Who we are

Massage is Medicine was created from the belief that therapeutic touch plays an important role in the wellbeing of all bodies but especially our elders.

As people age, physical discomfort, reduced mobility and emotional isolation can become more common. Remedial massage therapy provides a supportive approach to improving comfort, circulation, relaxation and overall quality of life.

Our therapists provide respectful, compassionate and professional care in every interaction.

Our vision is to create a cornerstone where seniors are acknowledged, nurtured and supported as integral pillars of our community. Where lives are witnessed, and bodies are respected.

We see Massage is Medicine as a catalyst for positive change in aged care - setting an unshakable standard where emotional presence, professional integrity and human connection through therapeutic touch are recognised as essential to wellbeing.

Vision

To deliver holistic physical therapy to seniors with genuine compassion, understanding and respect so that each person connecting with Massage is Medicine feels nourished and supported.

Mission

Our Values

Professional healing,

Human connection

Founded in love, born of necessity.

Massage is Medicine had fairly humble beginnings before becoming the trusted Sunshine Coast based company it is now.

Whilst caring for her grandmother and independently raising her daughter in 2018, our Director Tabitha witnessed firsthand the struggles that many elderly face daily, including chronic pain, reduced mobility, and an over-reliance on strong medication. The lack of holistic options offered to her grandmother planted the seed for what would blossom into a deeply community-focused service.

What was initially a one-woman mobile massage service supporting seniors’ mobility quickly grew into much more, and Wild Earth Medicine Australia was born. The call was obvious: our elders, often overlooked but deeply deserving, needed more than just medication and band-aid solutions. They deserve connection, gentle care, and therapeutic support that does not just treat the symptoms of the body.

During the early days, Tabitha was the only therapist to support clients in their homes, providing connection and care as well as bodywork. Within 18 months, her first employee therapist was hired. Soon after, more committed women joined, and what began as one grew into a small, dedicated team, united in the mission to bring physical relief, comfort, and dignity to seniors within our local community.

Today, Massage is Medicine remains fully mobile, but the vision has expanded, bringing therapy to seniors across the Sunshine Coast and Gympie regions. We are proud to be working alongside numerous aged care providers offering Support at Home to ensure that seniors have access to compassionate, personalised care.

What makes Massage is Medicine unique is the way we blend professionalism with heart. We focus not only on the physical outcomes of pain relief and improved mobility, but also on the emotional and relational outcomes that come from being deeply seen, heard, and cared for with consistency.

Our therapists are supported with flexible, sustainable work structures, ensuring they can bring their best selves to every client. Massage is Medicine is more than a service—it’s a community. From handwritten birthday cards and regular check-ins with clients, managers and partners, we are committed to creating ripples of care that extend beyond each treatment. This is a company built on old school values of respect, compassion, and sustainability, and one that is growing into a model where healing flows in all directions, including to clients, therapists, families, and the wider community. This is our medicine.

The story of Massage is Medicine is still being written, but its roots remain: love for our elders, respect for the healing power of touch, and a belief that business can be a force for genuine care and connection.
